CONTENT IS KING, BUT THE CROWN IS HEAVY
I help high-growth technology companies build and scale their content marketing initiatives. From creating foundational materials to assembling top teams, I offer start-ups the expert guidance and hands-on support they need to generate brand awareness, deliver high-converting campaigns, and drive business opportunities.
HI, I'M RACHEL
After graduating from SJSU with a BA in English and minor in advertising, I started my career in tech on the frontlines of still new and somewhat uncharted content marketing territory.
Ten years later, I’d built multi-channel content marketing strategies, overseen quarterly publishing calendars, and led content teams of 10+ for start-ups that went on to be acquired by companies including SAP, Zendesk, and Citrix.
Along the way, I gained significant product marketing expertise and learned how to ground content efforts firmly in larger organizational and demand gen goals.
I eventually decided to start Content Sherpas and harness my skills, experience, and passion to help high-growth tech companies develop scalable content marketing initiatives.
GREAT CONTENT ISN'T JUST CREATIVE AND WELL-WRITTEN
It also challenges readers to see problems, solutions, and possibilities in a new light. It educates and inspires action. It differentiates your business, drives home market positioning, and delivers on specific demand-generation goals.
While every client is unique and I custom-tailor my approach, here are a few key ways I help high-growth companies succeed:
HERE ARE A FEW SAMPLES OF MY WORK
I’ve written and edited hundreds of blog posts, eBooks, case studies, webpages, and other types of materials.
While I excel at and enjoy learning about new audiences and industries, I have experience creating content for companies in the CRM, project management, data and analytics, identity management, marketing intelligence, and digital asset management spaces, specifically.

This is a piece I conceptualized and wrote for Base CRM (now Zendesk Sell) amid a major AI push in the sales world. Industry focus was very much on “predictive analytics” — but Base was selling the much lesser-known “prescriptive analytics.” It’s meant to introduce and hype up the topic by contrasting it with more well-known technology.

Part of selling a land-and-expand product is painting the art of the possible. I drafted this piece for Sigma to speak not only to key decision makers ultimately responsible for making the purchase, but also to the multiple influencers usually pulled in during the buying process. It’s used across multiple nurtures and as a follow-up to sales calls with champions.

“Instant content program — just add Rachel. Starting from scratch, she's been responsible for the development of a content program that powers our demand gen operation. She's helped us mature from one-off content marketing to strategic, quarterly-themed campaigns that drive our lead funnel from top to bottom. She accomplishes more with 16 hours a week than any content leader I've ever worked with! ”
“Rachel is a brilliant content marketing strategist and writer. The speed at which she can understand new technologies, categories, and markets is remarkable and adds instant value to the internal team. She has a strong background in the Challenger Sales Model and an instinct to approach content from the demand gen perspective, which results in a wide variety of campaign assets that resonate with target audiences, gently usher them through the funnel, and, ultimately, convert them into viable MQLs. ”
“Rachel is a one woman content marketing army, and the amount of tangible value she is able to demonstrate as a consultant is truly awe inspiring. She is able to quickly identify content gaps, gauge what is the best use of time and resources, and develop a comprehensive content strategy that drives business outcomes. Not only is Rachel a gifted writer, she’s a talented coach that is able to cultivate and develop the writing skills of the teams she works with. Hire Rachel to build the content foundation your company can build on for years to come. ”
“I've worked with Rachel for over 4 years and she is hands down one of the most talented content marketers that I've worked with. Rachel is not only a phenomenal tech writer with the product marketing and demand gen mindset - her unique super power is that she's also a strategic operator. Rachel is fast, efficient and precise and was a critical contributor to our success at Wrike and Sigma Computing. ”
“Rachel came to the Wrike content team during a huge transition stage and not only adapted quickly, but transformed the team into a process-oriented, deadline-driven machine. During a time where we were under the gun to deliver 5x the amount of content, she built expansive processes that aligned departments on key initiatives, set measurable goals for her team, and successfully gained the trust and support of everyone she collaborated with. There’s purpose and intent behind every thing she does which makes her an exceptional marketing leader. ”
